Define the purpose and audience
Open Batch and state the single purpose of the batch. Build the narrowest eligible audience and confirm the workspace, filters, date, status, and exclusions.
Choose the output
Select the approved template or action. Confirm that the template fits the audience and that required fields are available.
Preview before running
Review the audience count and representative outputs. Check merged details, formatting, links, stationery, consent, and excluded records. Resolve every unexpected item before continuing.
Run deliberately
A preview is not a completed batch. Start the batch only after review, then keep the visible batch reference and status until processing finishes.
Verify history
Open batch history and compare intended, completed, skipped, and failed counts. Investigate exceptions rather than rerunning the entire audience. Confirm that any follow-up occurs only for the intended items.
Stop conditions
Stop if the audience changes unexpectedly, exclusions are unclear, the template is not approved, the preview contains private information in the wrong place, or the final action cannot be reversed safely.
