Understand the portal boundary

The client portal is a customer-facing access point connected to private workspace records. Public portal wording and branding are different from the private information shown after verified access.

Configure the experience

Review the portal heading, introduction, action cards, footer wording, public contact details, logo, and colors. Use the private preview and confirm desktop and mobile layouts before publishing changes.

Help with access

Confirm the client record and intended recipient before sending or resending access. Verify the visible access status after the action. Revoke access when it should no longer remain available.

Review activity

Use portal activity to identify the visible event and its current status. A sent invitation, successful verification, uploaded document, and completed client action are separate facts.

Manage retention carefully

Retention, quarantine, hold, release, eligibility, approval, and permanent removal are distinct states. Read every confirmation and stop before a permanent action when the authority or recovery state is uncertain.
